Job summary

Senior Structural Engineer in Sydney, joining AECOM's Buildings + Places Structures team. You will lead design and delivery across aviation, sport, culture, education, healthcare, and transport sectors, mentoring juniors and upholding technical excellence.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable design outcomes while managing deliverables, timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Ideally, 5+ years’ experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building structures.
• Experience delivering structural design projects within a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software including SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT, and Structural Toolkit.
• Experience with SAP2000, RAM, IdeaStatiCa, and Grasshopper will be viewed favourably.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Australian Citizenship is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate structural design and delivery of projects across market sectors.
• Prepare and review structural analysis, calculations, design reports, specifications and docs.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, efficient, sustainable outcomes.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support learning and innovation.
