Agilitus in Townsville is expanding its team and seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to deliver innovative, practical design solutions across brownfield and greenfield projects. You will contribute to the full design lifecycle, produce compliant structural solutions, and communicate design intent to stakeholders.

Working with drafters and multidisciplinary engineers, you will ensure high-quality outcomes, mentor juniors, and support tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural) required or equivalent.
• CPEng / RPEQ qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 8+ years in mining, minerals processing, energy or heavy industrial sectors.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards.
• Experience in steel and concrete design, structural dynamics and fatigue.
• Experience with Strand7, Space Gass and RFEM software.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and interpret construction specifications, drawings and procedures in line with legislation and client requirements.
• Oversee mobilisation and coordination of site personnel, materials, plant and equipment.
• Review drawings and specifications to estimate costs and prepare detailed cost plans for budgets.
• Monitor design changes and negotiate design variations.
• Analyse and design structural systems to withstand static/dynamic loads and ensure safety and serviceability.
• Communicate planning outputs to internal and external stakeholders.

We’re expanding our Townsville team and looking for a talented Senior Structural Engineer who is passionate about developing innovative, practical design solutions. In this full-time role, you'll be part of a supportive, high-performing group that collaborates closely to deliver smart, efficient outcomes across both brownfield and greenfield projects. You'll contribute to the full design lifecycle, producing compliant, high-quality structural solutions, communicating design intent to stakeholders and working alongside drafters and multidisciplinary engineers to ensure every project is delivered to our high standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and interpreting construction specifications, drawings and procedures, ensuring compliance applicable legislation, standards, and client project requirements
• Overseeing the mobilisation and coordination of site personnel, materials, plant and equipment in accordance with project requirements.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and prepare detailed cost plans and estimates to assist in budgetary control
• monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs
• Analyse and design structural systems to safely withstand static and dynamic loads, ensuring structural integrity, stability, and serviceability.
• Effectively communicate planning outputs to internal and external stakeholders
• Continuous improvement of structural design tools for use across the team
• Assisting with construction project delivery outcomes, including occasional site-based work if/as required
• Completing project management tasks including planning and progress reporting
• Assisting with the management of small to medium sized projects including collaboration with drafters and engineers of other disciplines
• Assist with the preparation and co-ordination of tender submissions and project proposals when required
• Dealing with project stakeholders and attending project meetings
• Other duties as they arise, ensuring the ongoing provision or our high-quality service delivery to our clients

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural)
• CPEng / RPEQ Qualification (advantageous)
• You will have at least 8+ years working experience in the mining, minerals processing, energy or heavy industrial sectors
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards
• Experience in steel and concrete design, structural dynamics and fatigue
• Experience with software design packages Strand7, Space Gass, RFEM, etc.
