Job summary

Agilitus in Townsville is expanding its team and seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to deliver innovative, practical design solutions across brownfield and greenfield projects. You will contribute to the full design lifecycle, produce compliant structural solutions, and communicate design intent to stakeholders.

Working with drafters and multidisciplinary engineers, you will ensure high-quality outcomes, mentor juniors, and support tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural) required or equivalent.
• CPEng / RPEQ qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 8+ years in mining, minerals processing, energy or heavy industrial sectors.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards.
• Experience in steel and concrete design, structural dynamics and fatigue.
• Experience with Strand7, Space Gass and RFEM software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and interpret construction specifications, drawings and procedures in line with legislation and client requirements.
• Oversee mobilisation and coordination of site personnel, materials, plant and equipment.
• Review drawings and specifications to estimate costs and prepare detailed cost plans for budgets.
• Monitor design changes and negotiate design variations.
• Analyse and design structural systems to withstand static/dynamic loads and ensure safety and serviceability.
• Communicate planning outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
