Job summary

Engeny, part of the Egis Group, is a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy operating across Australia. We are seeking a Senior Structural Designer with 10+ years of experience to deliver complex brownfield and greenfield projects for resources, government, and water infrastructure clients.

You will document structural designs for concrete and steel, mentor junior staff, manage CAD drafting, and develop engineering solutions within a supportive, high-performance team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural design experience in industrial/mining projects.
• Experience with water, civil infrastructure, drainage, dams and heavy industrial design.
• Engineering or science degree, tertiary level.
• Knowledge of relevant design and drawing standards for resources, councils and industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT and ProSteel for drafting and modelling.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and support CAD team.

Responsibilities

• Document structural engineering designs for concrete and steel projects across industrial, mining, and infrastructure scopes.
• Support projects through various lifecycle stages including roads, drainage, dams and water treatment plants.
• Lead and mentor junior staff; coordinate CAD drafting work and 3D modelling.
• Develop engineering designs and practical solutions for complex projects.
• Produce CAD documentation and 3D models; ensure QA procedures are followed.
• Contribute to business development and cross-team collaboration.

Job Description

As a Senior Structural Designer (10+ years' experience) in our QLD Structural team, your impact will be in the successful delivery of technically complex structural brownfield and greenfield projects for resources, government and water infrastructure clients.

You will be responsible for:

• Documentation of structural engineering designs for a variety of concrete and steel projects for industrial, mining design/infrastructure, bulk earthworks, stormwater drainage, flood/water management, local government, and dam related applications.
• Support projects at various lifecycle stages related to mining/resources, roads, drainage, dams, water treatment plants, storm water management and heavy industrial developments.
• Participating in CAD team drafting management and supporting broader business development activities for the QLD structural team
• Development of engineering designs and solutions
• Concrete and reinforcement detailing
• Structural steel design and detailing
• Production of CAD documentation and 3D models
• Mentoring and technical support of junior staff.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 10+ years professional experience with demonstrated technical expertise working on projects in sectors such as resources and infrastructure within a consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in water and civil infrastructure design, drainage, stormwater and dams
• Demonstrated knowledge and project experience in mining and heavy industrial structural design
• A tertiary engineering or science degree beneficial
• Minimum 10+ years experience as a Structural Designer or similar.
• Experienced and confident with relevant design and drawing standards of resources companies, Local Councils, Main Roads and the development industry.
• Strong knowledge and application of local standards, Australian standards and statutory and regulatory requirements relating to structural design
• Competencies in structural drawing production, quality assurance procedures, data centralisation/management, etc.
• Computer modelling skills in AutoCAD, REVIT, ProSteel and/or other drafting software.
