Job summary

Aurecon in Perth, WA seeks a Senior Engineer in Industrial Structures to contribute to the design and analysis of industrial facilities, including platforms, pipe racks and transfer stations.

You will work on foundations, interfaces and constructability while coordinating with geotechnical and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; chartership progress is highly regarded.
• Experience in structural design for industrial facilities, mining and resources touchpoints.
• Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1170, AS 4100, AS 3600).
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design tools SpaceGass/Strand7; familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit/Tekla is advantageous.
• Strong communication and proactive problem-solving and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver analyses and designs for industrial steel and concrete structures such as platforms and pipe racks.
• Design foundations and support arrangements coordinating with geotechnical inputs and construction constraints.
• Produce high-quality deliverables including calculations, reports, specifications and sketches; support drafting teams.
• Use SpaceGass/Strand7 to model and verify outputs; ensure interfaces with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support constructability and Safety in Design through reviews and risk workshops.
• Provide construction support including RFIs, clarifications, and site input as needed.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Engineer in our Industrial Structures team based in Perth, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

• Deliver structural analysis and design for industrial steel and concrete structures, including platforms, pipe racks, equipment support frames, transfer stations, gantries, buildings and ancillary structures.
• Design foundations and support arrangements, coordinating with geotechnical inputs and construction constraints.
• Produce high-quality engineering deliverables, including calculations, design reports, specifications and design sketches, while supporting drafting and modelling teams.
• Use structural software such as SpaceGass and Strand7, or equivalent, to develop and check models and outputs.
• Coordinate interfaces with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, piping and electrical, to ensure coordinated and buildable outcomes.
• Support constructability and Safety in Design by participating in reviews, risk workshops and value engineering where required.
• Provide construction support, including RFIs, technical clarifications, site input and as-built or close-out requirements as needed.

What You’ll Bring

• A degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, with progress toward Chartership highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in structural design for industrial facilities, ideally within mining and resources, including materials handling, process plants, conveyors and transfer stations, pipe racks, platforms, tanks, equipment support structures, foundations and brownfield upgrades.
• Working knowledge and application of relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 1170, AS 4100, AS 3600 and related industry guidelines.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design tools such as SpaceGass and Strand7, or equivalent. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and/or Tekla is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and delivery.
