Job summary

Aurecon is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to lead the delivery of complex data centre projects across Australia. You will shape structural solutions that are robust, buildable and aligned with client objectives, while developing and winning work in a fast-growing market.

In this senior role you will mentor engineers, lead client engagements and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative infrastructure outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • CPEng and/or RPEV registration is desirable.
  • 10–15 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience delivering structural projects in a consulting environment.
  • Experience in data centre sector or related complex buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with developers, contractors and key industry stakeholders.
  • Work directly with Design & Construct contractors to develop practical, buildable solutions.

Associate Structural Engineer (Data Centres)

What you’ll do

As an Associate Structural Engineer, you’ll play a key role in escalating Aurecon’s structural presence in the rapidly expanding data centre market. This is a market-facing senior position focused on leading the delivery of complex structural projects, developing and winning work, and strengthening client relationships and across Australia’s most significant digital infrastructure developments.

You’ll work closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams, helping shape structural solutions that are technically robust, commercially practical, highly buildable and aligned with project objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the pursuit and delivery of structural engineering projects within the data centre sector
  • Build relationships with developers, contractors and key industry stakeholders across the digital infrastructure market
  • Work directly with Design & Construct contractors to develop practical, buildable and commercially effective structural solutions
  • Identify opportunities to improve constructability, programme outcomes and project value for clients and contractors
  • Lead structural engineering design and delivery across major data centre and other complex buildings projects
  • Support business development activities, client presentations, proposals and market engagement initiatives
  • Contribute to strategic growth plans and help expand Aurecon’s structural market share within the data centre sector
  • Mentor and support developing engineers while fostering a collaborative team culture
  • Work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering outcomes
What you’ll bring

Here are the key things you’ll need to bring ideas to life:

  • Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and/or RPEV registered, with 10-15 years’ structural engineering experience
  • Strong experience delivering structural projects within a consulting environment
  • Demonstrated experience within the data centre sector or closely related complex buildings markets
  • Exposure to Design & Construct project environments and working directly with contractors
  • Strong understanding of structural design, constructability and commercial project drivers
  • Experience in modular and prefabricated structural solutions
  • Proven ability to build client relationships and identify new business opportunities
  • Confidence representing your organisation in client meetings, workshops and industry forums
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
  • Experience leading project teams and delivering complex engineering solutions
