Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director level Structural Engineer to join the Sydney Structures Team. This senior leadership role combines team leadership with delivery of landmark projects across Australia, providing technical direction and mentoring to engineers.

You will engage clients, lead design reviews, support proposals and growth of the structural capability in Sydney and across ANZ, while upholding engineering standards in line with Australian codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with 20+ years of relevant structural experience.
• CPEng with Engineers Australia, or equivalent registration.
• Extensive experience delivering complex structural projects with knowledge of Australian codes and design practices.
• Proven technical leadership, design reviews, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience acting as a Project Director or senior project leadership with commercial skills.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills with a track record of securing new work.
• Demonstrated people leadership, mentoring structural engineers and future leaders.
• Strong working knowledge of SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT and Strand7.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering landmark structural and multidisciplinary projects.
• Provide technical leadership and design reviews to ensure quality.
• Act as Project Director on major projects with clients and project teams.
• Mentor Sydney structural team and develop future leaders.
• Build client relationships and contribute to proposals and work winning.
• Share knowledge across Building Engineering group to maintain standards.
