Job summary

Camden Council is seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Planner to lead precinct planning in Camden’s rapidly growing LGA and to drive strategic land use policy development. You will apply expertise in urban release area planning and planning instruments to shape sustainable growth across Camden.

The role reports to the Team Leader Strategic Planning and offers opportunities to influence planning outcomes within one of Australia’s fastest-growing councils.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Experience with urban release area planning and planning instruments.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with consultants.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strategic thinking and collaborative work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and related NSW legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead precinct planning within Camden LGA growth areas.
• Develop and implement strategic land use policies.
• Deliver actions from Camden's Local Strategic Planning Statement.
• Review strategies and planning instruments for growth precincts.
• Influence planning outcomes across Camden’s growth areas.
