Job summary

CMC Markets ANZ is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to drive reliability, observability, and performance across our trading platforms. You’ll design and implement SLOs/SLOs, lead incident responses, and reduce toil through automation.

You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available services in a fast-paced fintech environment. You’ll work on large-scale .NET and TypeScript applications, apply IaC with Terraform, and contribute to OpenTelemetry

Qualifications

• 7+ years in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar
• Senior-level experience supporting production systems in SRE/DevOps roles
• Experience defining and managing SLOs/SLA/operational metrics
• Proven experience implementing observability with metrics, logs, traces
• Proficiency with monitoring/alerting tools like Prometheus, Grafana, App Insights
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
• Ability to influence system design and mentor others
• Enterprise-grade experience with C# and .NET including ASP.NET and .NET Core

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and report on SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to improve service reliability
• Improve observability standards using metrics, logs, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting
• Lead incident response, triage, and blameless post-incident reviews
• Reduce operational toil through automation and self-service tooling
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability-oriented architecture
• Improve performance, scalability, resilience, and capacity across production services
• Build/runbooks, run templates, and operational documentation
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across app, infra, network layers
• Act as SME for reliability, observability, and operational excellence
• Participate in on-call rotation when required
• Maintain professional development aligned with role requirements
