Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA, is seeking a Sr. NPI Engineer to lead wiring harness industrialization and production launch for space hardware.

You will drive end-to-end NPI strategy, partner with design, supplier manufacturing, quality and supply chain to meet milestones, and ensure a smooth transfer to mass production. The role emphasizes DFM/DFT, cost reduction, process optimization, and delivering reliable interconnect solutions for a constellation of satellites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years from engineering development through production.
• 5+ years with external suppliers for spacecraft design components.
• Understanding of DFM/DFA and process development.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Experience creating work instructions and inspection methods.
• Experience root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Strong cross-functional communication with Design, Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition of complex wire harness products from design to high-volume manufacturing.
• Develop and own end-to-end wire harness NPI strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Drive DFM and DFT requirements for harness development.
• Optimize fabrication, assembly and test processes to maximize yield and reduce costs.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve constraints during NPI and transfer to mass production.
• Ensure products meet quality and reliability specs with Supplier Quality.
