Job summary

Amazon Leo’s production leadership role oversees Kuiper satellite assembly in Redmond, WA. You will lead a team of technicians in a clean-room, ESD-controlled environment, coordinating testing and sub-assembly work to meet tight quality standards.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience, people leadership, and a proven track record in high-reliability manufacturing, with a 4/10 schedule (Sun-Wed, 5p-3:30a). Opportunities to influence process improvements and safety initiatives abound.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience leading a team.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop and supervise leads and technicians focused on Kuiper satellite production.
• Coordinate with Kuiper leaders and engineers to plan daily tasks and priorities.
• Establish on-the-job training programs and standardized learning paths.
• Independently manage Technicians performing tests on satellite sub-assemblies in a clean-room/ESD-controlled environment.
• Inspect and verify team outputs to meet engineering and quality standards.
• Create and maintain process documentation including assembly, inspection, testing, and shipping procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, design, operations and test engineers to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide feedback on designs, processes, tools and equipment used in production.
• Improve area safety and reporting through audits and safety projects.
