Job summary

Bankstown Sports in Sydney is seeking an experienced Sous Chef – Events to lead and support our Events Kitchen brigade, overseeing preparation and service for weddings, galas, conferences and large-scale functions.

Reporting to the Culinary Director, you will coach chefs, manage food quality, costs and HACCP standards while delivering consistently high standards under pressure. Join a dynamic hospitality group with career progression and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef/Executive Sous Chef or Head Chef in events, banqueting or high-volume hospitality.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop kitchen teams.
• Strong food cost control, inventory and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the kitchen brigade across preparation and event service.
• Deliver exceptional food quality, presentation and consistency across all functions.
• Support Head Chef and Culinary Director with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Coordinate food production across weddings, galas, conferences and large-scale events.
• Coach and develop chefs and junior team members.
• Assist rostering, labour management and inventory control.
• Maintain high food safety, HACCP standards and cost controls.
• Contribute to menu development and continuous improvement.
