Job summary

Bankstown Sports is seeking a Head Chef - Events to lead our high-volume events kitchens within a renowned hospitality and events venue. You will oversee culinary operations for weddings, galas, conferences and large-scale functions, ensuring exceptional food quality and guest experiences.

Reporting to the Culinary Director, you will drive menu development, manage costs, mentor a diverse kitchen brigade and maintain HACCP and regulatory compliance across multiple venues.

• Proven experience leading events culinary teams
• Strong financial acumen with food costs and labour budgets
• Delivery of high-quality food experiences at large events
• Ability to mentor and develop culinary talent
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing brigade, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and excellence
• Drive exceptional food quality, presentation and consistency across all functions and events
• Oversee all kitchen operations including rostering, labour management, procurement, stock control and inventory management
• Manage food costs, labour budgets and operational efficiencies to achieve commercial objectives
• Deliver seamless execution across weddings, gala dinners, conferences, cocktail events and large-scale functions
• Champion food safety, HACCP compliance and legislative requirements across the operation
• Partner closely with the Culinary Director and Events leadership team to deliver outstanding guest experiences
• Contribute to menu development, product innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead service periods with confidence while maintaining exceptional standards under pressure
