Job summary

MMG Limited’s Dugald River operation seeks a Senior Sourcing Specialist – Capex Procurement based in Melbourne. You will lead CAPEX procurement across MMG Australian mine sites and projects from the Melbourne head office, with travel as required.

You will develop sourcing plans, manage tenders and RFQs, negotiate terms and engage stakeholders to deliver competitive commercial outcomes while maintaining SHEC standards. A strong CAPEX background is essential and relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years’ experience in Capex procurement or supply chain sourcing.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, negotiating, and developing commercial arrangements.
• Proven CAPEX procurement, project sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contracting.
• Strong understanding of industrial CAPEX categories including process equipment, utilities, automation and civil works.
• Ability to manage multiple supply activities across categories, timelines and sites.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and SHEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead CAPEX procurement and sourcing activities across MMG Australian mine sites and projects, developing sourcing strategies for equipment, utilities, automation systems and civil works.
• Manage multiple Capex activities simultaneously while maximizing value and benefits.
• Develop and execute sourcing plans for major capital purchases and identify suitable suppliers.
• Manage competitive tender and RFQ processes, including evaluation of pricing and proposals, and recommend preferred suppliers.
• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, covering pricing, terms, warranties, delivery and contract obligations, progressing to PO execution.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support and deliver on requirements.

About the role:

The Senior Sourcing Specialist – Capex Procurement role is based in our Melbourne Head Office on a Monday – Friday roster with travel to our Australian Operations as required.

You will -

• Lead CAPEX procurement and sourcing activities across MMG Australian mine Sites and projects, developing sourcing strategies for process equipment, utilities, automation systems, and civil works in line with business requirements, project objectives and procurement priorities.
• Manage and deliver multiple Capex activities simultaneously while driving maximising value and benefit.
• Develop and execute sourcing plans for major capital purchases, identifying suitable suppliers, assessing market conditions and determining appropriate procurement approaches to achieve competitive commercial outcomes.
• Manage competitive tender and RFQ processes, including preparation and review of commercial requirements, coordination of supplier submissions, evaluation of pricing and commercial proposals, and recommendation of preferred suppliers.
• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, covering pricing, payment terms, warranties, delivery requirements, contractual obligations, variations and other commercial conditions, and support the progression of agreements through to purchase order execution.
• Engage closely with internal and external stakeholders to support and deliver on their requirements.

Who we are looking for:

• Preference for at least 7 years’ experience in Capex Procurement or Supply Chain sourcing roles, ideally in large asset/capital industry
• Experience in strategic sourcing, negotiating, and developing commercial arrangements.
• Proven experience in CAPEX procurement, project sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and contracting
• Strong understanding of industrial CAPEX categories including process equipment, utilities, automation systems, and civil works
• Ability to manage multiple supply activities simultaneously, across different categories, stakeholders, timelines, and sites.
• Provide procurement input into CAPEX planning and governance, including cost analysis, supplier benchmarking, investment assumptions, procurement risks, project milestones and required approvals.
• Can demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the site’s standards and procedures in Safety, Health, Environment and Community (SHEC).
