Job summary

MMG Dugald River in Queensland is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to support maintenance across the mine. You will report to the Supervisor – Maintenance Electrical and help maintain fixed Electrical and Instrumentation assets in a heavy industrial underground mining environment.

This role operates on an 8/6 dayshift with night shift as required, with Bus In Bus Out from Cloncurry or Mt Isa, or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville.

Qualifications

• Dual trade certification in Electrical and Instrumentation.
• Strong work ethic, safety values and extensive maintenance background in hard rock underground mining.
• Experience with HV switchgear, RMUs, motor controls and variable speed drives.
• Familiarity with Schneider PLCs and instrumentation controls; SAP CMMS literacy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed Electrical and Instrumentation infrastructure to ensure safety and compliance.
• Ensure reliability of assets with focus on production KPI targets.
• Support maintenance tasks in the mineral processing fixed plant environment.
• Perform fault finding and repairs in heavy industrial and process settings.

About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Dugald River Mine. This role would report into the Supervisor – Maintenance Electrical, you will provide Maintenance support to the Dugald River Mine operations.

This role is a based on an 8/6 dayshift (night shift as required). Bus in bus out (BIBO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa, or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring statutory compliance in maintaining fixed Electrical and Instrumentation infrastructure whilst providing a safe working culture.
• The reliability and safe operation of assets are integral to this position, as daily and weekly targets are measured against with production targets as critical KPI’s.
• You will also be called upon as required to perform the same tasks in the mineral processing fixed plant maintenance operations environment.
• Important to the role, will be your experience within fault finding and fixed plant maintenance for a heavy industrial and process environment.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Dual trade certification in Electrical and Instrumentation along with at least 3-5 years of trade experience.
• Strong work ethic, safety values, and an extensive maintenance background including underground the ability to perform all repairs within scope, installation, servicing, overhauls, and commissioning in a hard rock underground mining environment.
• Solid experience in HV switchgear and RMU’s, motor controls, variable speed AC drives, Schneider PLCs, pneumatic and electronic process control instrumentation.
• Literacy in a computerised maintenance management system such as SAP will be highly regarded.
