MMG at Dugald River in Queensland is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join the SHEC team. You will deliver safety and health activities onsite, report to the SHEC Manager, and support a culture of safety with strong stakeholder engagement.

The role offers bus in/out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa, or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane, plus an incentive for those living in Cloncurry. MMG supports local communities and Indigenous applicants.

Qualificações

• Qualifications in relevant Safety and/or Health discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in similar roles with stakeholder relationship skills and delivery focus.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing Health and Safety Management Systems.
• Knowledge of Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Acts and Regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Influence onsite safety culture and provide subject matter expertise.
• Monitor health and safety licenses, regulations and standards.
• Coordinate hygiene monitoring according to site procedures.
• Implement health and safety management plans.
• Support MMG safety delivery with accountabilities for team members and supervisors.
• Drive safety, health, hygiene and emergency response improvement projects.
• Maintain SHEC data in systems (ESDAT, IEM, ERIK, GIS, Borealis, SAP).
• Day-to-day supervisory support and mentoring of site-based Health and Safety team.

Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 zinc operations, located near Cloncurry in Queensland. Dugald River was successfully commissioned ahead of schedule and under budget, with first production of zinc concentrate in October 2017.Dugald River is estimated to have a mine life of 20+ years processing an average of 1.7 million tonnes of ore per annum. The operation predominantly produces zinc concentrate, with by-products including lead and silver.

Health and Safety Advisor

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our SHEC team at our Dugald River operations.

Reporting to the SHEC Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of Safety and Health activities onsite.

The role is available on a bus in, bus out basis (BIBO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts on an 8/6 roster, or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane. An attractive additional incentive is available to employees who live or move into the Cloncurry township. MMG is supportive of our local communities and region and persons of Kalkadoon heritage and other local Indigenous are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications, Competencies & knowledge highly desired;

• Qualifications in relevant Safety and/or Health discipline
• Demonstrated experience in similar roles with strong stakeholder relationship skills and delivery focus
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing Health and Safety Management Systems
• Knowledge and application of Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Acts and Regulations

Some of your key responsibilities will include;

• Positively influence and provide subject matter expertise to support the onsite culture around safety, health, hygiene and emergency response
• Monitor and report on health and safety related licences, regulations and standards
• Conduct and coordinate hygiene monitoring according to site procedures and work instructions
• Implement health and safety management plans
• Support the delivery of the MMG approach to delivering work safely, including work team member and supervisor accountabilities in safety
• Drive and support safety, health, hygiene and emergency response improvement projects
• Maintain health and safety data according to site SHEC recording and reporting Work Quality Requirement including entry into data management systems (ESDAT, IEM, ERIK, GIS, Borealis, SAP), verification and reporting
• Day-to-day supervisory support including professional development, task management and mentoring to site-based Health and Safety team members
