Job summary

INDEX Consultants is seeking a Senior Solution Specialist in Sydney to shape and deliver cloud and infrastructure solutions across a diverse client portfolio. You will manage end-to-end delivery from discovery and design through to implementation and handover, working with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure technically sound and commercially practical outcomes.

You will lead presales engagements, craft scalable technology solutions, and deliver high-quality documentation

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering cloud and infrastructure projects in a MSP or professional services environment.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender and modern workplace platforms.
• Experience designing and implementing infrastructure solutions across Windows Server, virtualization, networking, backup and DR technologies.
• Understanding of project delivery methodologies, solution architecture principles and structured operational handover practices.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with customers, communicate technical concepts clearly and translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
• Certifications in Microsoft, Azure or infrastructure are highly regarded.

About the role

As a Senior Solution Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering cloud and infrastructure solutions for a diverse portfolio of customers. Working across the full project lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through to implementation, commissioning and operational handover, you'll help organisations adopt technology solutions that are secure, scalable and built for long-term success. This role combines technical delivery, solution design and presales engagement, providing the opportunity to influence customer outcomes from the earliest stages of an engagement through to successful project completion. You'll work closely with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders while helping ensure every solution is technically sound, commercially practical and operationally supportable. For someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, engaging directly with customers and seeing their designs successfully implemented in production environments, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact while continuing to grow their technical and consulting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver cloud, infrastructure and modern workplace solutions that align to customer requirements, security standards and operational best practice
• Lead end-to-end project delivery including discovery workshops, technical design, implementation, commissioning and structured handover to operational teams
• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to develop practical, scalable and commercially viable technology solutions
• Support presales activities through technical discovery, solution design, effort estimation and contributions to RFP, RFQ and proposal responses
• Produce high-quality technical documentation including Statements of Work, solution designs, as-built documentation and knowledge transfer materials

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering cloud and infrastructure projects within a Managed Services Provider or professional services environment
• Strong expertise across Microsoft technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft Defender and modern workplace platforms
• Experience designing and implementing infrastructure solutions across Windows Server, virtualisation, networking, backup and disaster recovery technologies
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, solution architecture principles and structured operational handover practices
• Ability to build trusted relationships with customers, communicate technical concepts clearly and translate business requirements into practical technology solutions
• Relevant Microsoft, Azure or infrastructure certifications will be highly regarded
