Job summary

NEC Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Solution Architect focused on Infrastructure. You will lead end‑to‑end enterprise infrastructure designs, combining HPE, Cisco, Aruba and Fortinet tech across on‑prem, hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.

You will drive pre‑sales and delivery activities, engage stakeholders at all levels, and mentor junior team members while delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years architectural experience designing and delivering complex IT infrastructure solutions.
• Proven experience with HPE server and storage platforms, Cisco networking, and Aruba, Fortinet technologies.
• Experience installing, configuring, and integrating infra across on‑prem, hybrid, and multi‑cloud environments.
• Ability to lead pre‑sales engagements and delivery phases with technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory capabilities.

Senior Solution Architect- Infrastructure

We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Solutions Architect with deep capability across enterprise infrastructure, particularly in HPE and Cisco technologies. This role suits a seasoned architect who thrives in client-facing engagements, excels in solution design, and can confidently lead both pre‑sales and project delivery activities.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial awareness, and consulting experience, paired with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and operate as a trusted advisor. They will be comfortable working within complex enterprise environments, developing end‑to‑end solutions, and ensuring technical integrity throughout the solution lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

Technical Leadership & Architecture Expertise

7+ years architectural experience designing and delivering complex IT infrastructure solutions, ideally in a Managed Services environment.

Proven experience with HPE server and storage platforms, Cisco networking, and complementary enterprise technologies (e.g. Aruba, Fortinet, virtualisation, cloud platforms).

Demonstrated capability in installing, configuring and integrating infrastructure technologies across on‑prem, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.

Ability to serve as Technical Lead during both pre‑sales engagements and delivery phases, providing solution design, technical oversight, and guidance to engineering teams.

Client Engagement & Consulting Skills

Strong customer-facing presence, able to build trusted advisor relationships and clearly articulate technical concepts to business and technical stakeholders.

Skilled at uncovering client business requirements and translating them into high-quality, commercially sound solution designs.

Experience facilitating client workshops, solution demonstrations and presentations.

Ability to work on billable customer engagements, with a focus on great customer outcomes.

Extensive background contributing to bids, proposals and tender responses as a subject matter expert.

Ability to produce accurate cost models, solution scopes, and architecture documentation.

Demonstrated success influencing clients and supporting sales teams to drive solution adoption.

A collaborative mindset with a passion for lifting capability across the architecture team.

Experience mentoring associate architects or engineers, supporting their development in both technical skills and consulting capability.

Qualifications & Certifications

Highly regarded:

Certifications across HPE, Cisco, Aruba, and Fortinet technology stacks.

AWS, Microsoft Azure certifications (preferred).

TOGAF and/or ITIL certifications.

Relevant tertiary qualifications (undergraduate or postgraduate).

Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work confidently with new technologies and architectural frameworks.

Excellent written and verbal communication, including high-quality documentation and presenting to senior audiences.
