Job summary

Protech in New South Wales is seeking a Senior Draftsperson to convert customer ideas into SolidWorks designs for tanks, silos, platforms and structural steelwork. You’ll work on-site in the St Marys factory, near fabrication teams, and drive projects from concept to production with autonomy.

You will produce manufacturing-ready SolidWorks models and detailed drawings, manage BOMs, and collaborate with production to resolve fabrication challenges, ensuring compliance with AS standards and

Qualifications

• 3D modelling experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Ability to create manufacturing-ready drawings and BOMs.
• Experience drafting tanks, silos, platforms or structural steelwork.
• Strong understanding of cutting, folding, welding and assembly processes.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards AS1657, AS1210, AS2304, AS4100 and AS4600.
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
• Australian drivers licence or access to vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage drawings for tanks, silos, platforms and structural steelwork.
• Create complex 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Produce detailed manufacturing-ready drawings and BOMs.
• Oversee final designs and ensure fabrication readiness.
• Create BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve fabrication challenges.
• Validate designs against manufacturing constraints.
• Own projects from concept to production.
• Drive ongoing product and manufacturing improvements.
