Job summary

SkyDB Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a major Australian Government technology programme. You will design, develop and deliver secure, scalable enterprise applications and provide technical leadership to delivery teams.

This hybrid role requires initial onsite work (6 weeks) with eligibility for Baseline security clearance. You will influence software architecture, standards and CI/CD practices while guiding developers to successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering and enterprise application development.
• Demonstrated experience leading software development projects or technical teams.
• Strong hands-on programming and software design skills.
• Experience designing complex applications and enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and architecture principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release management.
• Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into practical software solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of complex enterprise software applications.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to software development teams.
• Design scalable, secure and maintainable software solutions.
• Oversee software development activities including coding, testing, integration and deployment.
• Lead technical design reviews and recommend improvements to architecture.
• Manage software releases, deployments and ongoing support.
