Job summary

Projects Assured in Canberra is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure software for a major GEOINT program. You will collaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver mission-critical systems in a Defence environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and modern development practices.
• Experience in Agile and multidisciplinary delivery environments.
• Ability to work effectively in Defence or Government environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system components.
• Analyse business and technical requirements to deliver effective software solutions.
• Participate in peer code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with project teams to estimate, plan, and deliver software outcomes.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications, including defect resolution and code refactoring.
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
• Contribute to technical architecture and solution design activities.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Defence security requirements and the ISM.
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
