Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (SSE) to lead software development, configuration, and enhancement of OSS assurance systems. You will translate complex business requirements into implementable solutions, select appropriate tech stacks with Architects, and drive delivery against roadmaps.

You will guide in-house developers and external vendors, own alarm configurations, and provide L3 OSS Operations support, ensuring robust, scalable systems across Linux/Windows, containers, and

Qualifications

• 10–15 years IT experience with hands-on software development
• Experience with enterprise-scale systems design and delivery
• Proficiency in Java and Groovy, and database design/performance tuning
• Knowledge of OSS/BSS tooling and integration patterns is a plus
• Experience leading vendor/offshore development teams and code reviews

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level designs into component-level software implementations
• Manage and guide vendor teams to meet Optus standards
• Lead in-house developers and vendor resources to adopt new tools and practices
• Own alarms plans, configurations, and auto ticketing/auto restoration workflows
• Provide L3 support for OSS Operations through code/config changes
• Manage source code, build pipelines, and deployment tools
