Job summary

Orica is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead for the Digital Solutions team, focusing on Orebody Intelligence and AXIS Connect Field. The role integrates Bluetooth/serial device data with cloud services, delivering measurement-to-decision data for blasting, grade control and resource models.

The successful candidate will lead day-to-day engineering, shape architecture, and mentor the team, combining device integration with mature software practices in a remote/hybrid

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience designing and building resilient communication flows over Bluetooth (Classic/BLE), serial and TCP/IP.
• Understanding asynchronous device communication, including lifecycle management, handshaking, sequencing, state management and failure handling.
• Experience performing senior engineering or technical leadership responsibilities within a development team.
• A track record of successfully delivering high quality software solutions.
• Strong architectural judgement and demonstrated experience contributing to and driving technical design decisions.
• Confidence in communicating technical concepts and trade-offs to Product and engineering leadership.
• Experience working with industrial, field deployed or ruggedised devices is highly regarded.
• Experience with Flutter/Dart and mobile application development is desirable.
• A real passion for the integration of software and custom hardware devices.
