Job summary

REA Group is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement and maintain data-driven products across cloud platforms. You will work in a collaborative team using modern languages like Node.js and TypeScript, focusing on data pipelines, APIs and scalable services.

You’ll contribute to building robust data solutions, improving mortgage lifecycle tools, and modernising infrastructure in a hybrid work setting based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Qualifications

• End-to-end ownership of software lifecycle from design to production
• Hands-on AWS (Lambdas, RDS, Dynamo, S3, EC2)
• DB development with T-SQL and stored procedures
• DB design, data pipelines, and analytics platforms
• Performance tuning, secure coding, scalability, reliability
• ETL with Airflow or SSIS
• Node.js and TypeScript in serverless
• RESTful APIs and authentication
• Data/API deep-dive to derive insights
• BigQuery and data warehousing concepts
• Build pipelines, Docker, and CI/CD practices
• Passion for data and continuous learning

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test and deploy data products using diverse technologies and platforms
• Maintain and enhance existing products including bug fixes and BAU features
• Ensure reliability, availability and security of systems and data
• Develop new services and modernise existing technical infrastructure
