Job summary

Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd is hiring for experienced software engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud software. You’ll investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and contribute to architecture decisions.

You will write high quality distributed systems, perform peer code reviews, and drive engineering excellence across Agile teams. You will mentor engineers, create design documentation, and help establish SOPs while contributing to AWS’s

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for complex systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software language.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, and OO design in Linux/Unix environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
• Investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate feasibility.
• Write high quality distributed system software and perform peer code reviews.
• Develop and maintain key system features.
• Drive engineering best practices and excellence.
• Provide technical direction and identify areas of focus for the team.
• Establish architectural principles and mentor team members on design patterns.
• Create and review software design docs and mentor junior engineers.
• Create and review documentation and processes for recurring issues and SOPs.
