Spotlight Retail Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Engineering to build scalable, cloud-native solutions across our multi-brand digital ecosystem. You’ll work in a vibrant, fast-paced hybrid environment at our South Melbourne office.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in software engineering delivering large-scale digital platforms.
• Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Redux, Tailwind CSS, SSR/SSG, web performance.
• Backend: Java, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, SQL/NoSQL, AWS-native architecture.
• Domain: hands-on e-commerce; headless CMS or commerce tools experience desirable.
• Mindset: Agile, adaptable, thrives in a high-availability retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Build maintainable, cloud-native AWS features using sound design principles.
• Deliver full-stack features across Next.js/React frontends, NestJS/Node.js BFF/backend services, and Java/Spring Boot apps.
• Design and consume event-driven components and APIs (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Maintain code quality, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and clear technical docs.
• Leverage AI agents and coding assistants to accelerate debugging and delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build maintainable, cloud-native AWS features using sound design principles.
• Deliver full-stack features across Next.js/React frontends, NestJS/Node.js BFF/backend services, and Java/Spring Boot applications.

• Backend: Solid expertise in Java, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, SQL/NoSQL databases, and AWS-native architecture.
• Domain: Hands‑on e‑commerce experience; headless CMS (Content Stack) or Commerce tools experience is highly desirable.
