Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the LAND4140 BMS Project in Brisbane. You will lead technical scope, shape solution architectures, and mentor a team of engineers while delivering software across Python, Java, and integrated platforms.

Work will involve secure coding practices, containerised deployments, and rapid prototyping across hybrid work environments. The role directly supports Army mission-critical capability with real-world impact.

Qualifications

Proficient in Python and/or Java with hands-on deployment experience.
Experience leading technical scope and mentoring junior engineers.
Strong communication and collaboration across org boundaries.

Responsibilities

Lead technical scope and solution design for BMS/BCS work packages.
Mentor junior and graduate software engineers through reviews and pairing.
Design, build and test software features in Python; integrate with hardware/network infra.
Apply secure coding and cyber security practices across development lifecycle.
Containerise and deploy software across development, test and field environments.
Diagnose and resolve complex software/integration issues across the stack.
Run rapid prototypes and spikes between releases and feed findings into studies.
Collaborate with software, systems and hardware engineers to deliver cohesive capability.
