Job summary

Nexl, a fast-growing LegalTech company in Sydney, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build our AI-driven CRM and growth platform. You’ll own end-to-end features, drive architecture decisions, and work with AI tools like Claude Code and Cursor to accelerate delivery while upholding security and quality.

You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional squad and leadership to shape scalable systems and customer impact.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in full-stack architecture, system design, data modelling, debugging, and security.
• Proficient in React + TypeScript and Ruby on Rails or Python.
• Experience using Claude Code, Cursor, or similar agentic tools.
• Ability to critique AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Solid database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Responsibilities

• Design and ship features end-to-end across React/TypeScript and Rails or Python.
• Leverage Claude Code, Cursor, and similar agentic tools to accelerate development.
• Own system design, data modelling, security, and technical debt.
• Set and maintain high standards of code quality, security, and maintainability.
• Own the reliability and scalability of what you ship with strong observability.
• Collaborate with Tech Lead, Product Manager, and Design across initiatives.
• Mentor peers and share AI tooling practices to raise the team's AI game.
