Job summary

Nuix in Sydney is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the Enrich AI data-enrichment product within the Nuix Neo platform. You will own application architecture, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers while delivering scalable AI-enabled features.

The role demands strong Java/Spring backend, TypeScript/React frontend, Python, and experience with Docker, Kubernetes and AWS across on-prem and cloud deployments. You will collaborate across teams and drive technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in CS/engineering, software engineering, ML or related field.
• 10+ years software engineering experience; min 8+ years.
• Experience shipping AI features or AI products with agents or model-backed components.
• Strong backend Java and Spring; frontend TS/React desirable.
• Python exposure; collaborate with data scientists and ML workflows.
• Experience across on-prem and SaaS/cloud delivery (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS).
• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-backed features or agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with NLP/document intelligence or data-enrichment technologies is a strong plus.
• Hands-on and strategic; strong communicator and cross-team collaborator.
• Self-driven and proactive in technical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture with Architecture function to converge on target-state tech.
• Set and uphold engineering standards across code quality, security, and design.
• Improve reliability and performance; troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Contribute production code and provide code reviews; mentor engineers.
• Drive cross-team initiatives for interoperable technologies across Nuix.
• Contribute to AI agent design, evaluation and ship AI agent workflows.
• Support innovation, technical planning and ways of working across teams.
