Job summary

Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company powering premium news, sport and entertainment. We seek a Senior Commercial Products engineer to design and maintain complex integration flows, mentor teams in cloud development, and deliver high-quality code across a data-rich, distributed environment.

You will champion secure, scalable architectures using AWS, the .NET stack, and modern DevOps practices while partnering with Agile teams to optimise performance and reliability across

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based architectures.
• Strong knowledge of the .NET stack and modern .NET Core.
• Proven track record with relational databases (PostgreSQL/SQL Server).
• Experience with event-driven architectures and service-oriented design.
• DevOps practices and design reviews.
• Familiarity with WCF services and secure code practices.

Job Description

The Commercial Products team manages the custom-built systems that power our Sales Operations, Traffic, Finance, and Presentation teams. These systems are critical to our linear broadcast schedules and all broadcast-related revenue.

Day To Day You Will

• Lead & Architect: Design and maintain complex integration flows and system architecture.
• Mentor: Guide engineers in cloud development practices and champion a culture of excellence.
• Code & Review: Collaborate on high-standard code reviews and solve complex technical problems.
• Optimise: Write performant database operations and ensure a "security-first" approach.
• Facilitate: Support Agile ceremonies and drive DevOps best practices.

What You’ll Bring

• Cloud Expertise: AWS certifications or demonstrable practical experience in cloud environments.
• The Stack: Advanced knowledge of .NET Framework and .NET Core.
• Data Mastery: Advanced database experience (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) with the ability to optimise complex queries.
• Architecture: Deep understanding of Event-driven application design and experience working with WCF services.
• Ways of Working: A solid grasp of DevOps principles and a passion for staying ahead of the latest technology trends.
