Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Clinical Leader for the Child Development Services in Rockhampton. The role delivers advanced paediatric assessment, intervention, and case management for children with complex developmental needs and supports families through evidence-based practice.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team across hospital and community settings, influence stakeholders, and promote culturally safe care within a collaborative work

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • High-level knowledge of contemporary allied health practice with ability to provide expert clinical advice and culturally safe care.
  • Experience leading integrated multidisciplinary teams across hospital and community settings.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice in child health and developmental disorders.

About us:

Child Development Services (CDS) provides transdisciplinary paediatric allied health assessment services to children aged 0 – 8 years with developmental differences and complex developmental delays. Child Development Service supports families to build on their understanding of their child's developmental delay or disability and facilitate transition to supports, such as early intervention and community programs.

About the role:
  • Provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary Child Development Services (CDS) team, supporting children with complex developmental delays and their families.
  • Deliver advanced clinical services including assessment, intervention, clinical analysis and case management for complex paediatric presentations.
  • Drive evidence-based practice and service improvement through quality improvement, research and innovative approaches that enhance outcomes for children and families.
  • Foster strong collaboration and team culture, using expert communication and professional judgement to influence stakeholders, support an inclusive workforce and deliver culturally appropriate care.
About you:
  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); Overseas candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership.
  • High-level knowledge of contemporary allied health practice, with the ability to provide expert clinical advice, solve complex challenges and deliver culturally safe care.
  • Experience leading integrated multidisciplinary teams across hospital and community settings while building effective partnerships across government and non-government sectors.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice in child health, developmental disorders and disability, with strong independent judgement and caseload management skills.
What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $78,679 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
