Job summary

PAAR Systems seeks a hands-on data engineer to deliver secure, scalable Snowflake data products in a regulated banking environment. You will own the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and governance across the platform.

The role requires collaboration with architecture, risk, and business teams, implementing CI/CD, security, cost optimization, and performance tuning while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong Snowflake development in an enterprise data environment.
• Advanced SQL with complex transformations and data modelling.
• Experience building cloud-native data solutions on AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with ELT/ETL frameworks and tools such as dbt, Snowpark, Python, Airflow.
• Proficiency with GitHub and automated testing and deployment pipelines.
• CI/CD and DevOps capabilities for data platforms.
• Data governance, quality, security, privacy, and access-control requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and stakeholder management.
• Banking/financial-services data handling in regulated environments.
• Experience with AI-enabled analytics and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, data models, and reusable data products.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python/Snowpark, dbt, Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and stored procedures.
• Integrate data from enterprise sources, APIs, cloud platforms, and third-party data sources.
• Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Git-based version control and CI/CD practices.
• Apply data-engineering practices for performance tuning, workload management, query optimization, and cost control.
• Implement data security and governance controls, including RBAC, masking, secure data sharing, auditing, and data-quality checks.
• Partner with data architects, analysts, product owners, risk/compliance, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Support production incidents, root-cause analysis, monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement; provide technical leadership via code reviews and patterns.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, standards, reusable patterns, and mentoring of junior engineers.
