Job summary

Briones Group is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead the safe, efficient delivery of our mining services at an established Bowen Basin operation. You will oversee supervisors and crews, coordinate upcoming work and maintain strong client relationships, with a hands-on approach to ensure commercial and administrative requirements are met.

The role is permanent full-time, with a negotiable hourly rate based on experience, and includes a company vehicle and fuel card.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Superintendent or senior supervisor in mining contractor environments.
• Strong track record delivering fixed-plant maintenance and SMP work on operating mines.
• Experience managing multi-trade workforces.
• Strong safety leadership and knowledge of Queensland coal mining requirements.
• Good commercial awareness including labour cost control and variations.
• Strong planning, organisation and follow-through.
• Ability to build relationships with client representatives at all levels.
• Proficient in written communication, reporting and computer skills.
• Experienced with Microsoft Office and scheduling, safety and reporting systems.
• Current Standard 11, Coal Board Medical, and Class C Driver Licence, or ability to obtain.
• G1, G8 and G9 competencies desirable.
• Trade qualification in mechanical/boilermaking or related is advantageous.
• Able to reside within practical DIDO distance.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of Briones Group’s site maintenance, project and breakdown activities.
• Manage site supervisors, leading hands, tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Act as the primary point of contact between Briones Group and the client’s maintenance, planning, operations and contract teams.
• Coordinate workforce planning, rosters, mobilisation, onboarding, training and site coverage.
• Ensure upcoming work is properly scoped, planned and resourced.
• Confirm labour, materials, equipment, permits and work fronts are ready before work commences.
• Provide visible safety leadership and ensure compliance with site requirements, the SHMS and Briones Group procedures.
• Monitor work-order completion, labour utilisation, productivity and overall site performance.
• Ensure timesheets, supporting records and completed-work documentation are accurate and submitted on time.
• Identify and manage scope changes, variations and additional work.
• Assist with pricing and planning smaller site works where required.
• Work closely with Briones Group’s workshop, projects, safety and administration teams.
• Address personnel, performance, safety and quality issues promptly.
• Provide regular reporting on completed work, upcoming activities, labour requirements, risks and commercial matters.
• Support the ongoing development and growth of the site contract.
