Job summary

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is seeking a Senior Server Engineer to maintain high availability of platforms and systems. You will report to the Head of IT Operations & CISO and collaborate with the ICT team to extend infrastructure, strengthen security posture and enable new digital capabilities.

This role requires on-site work four days per week, with potential for two days work-from-home after three months.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise infrastructure or server engineering in large multi-site environments.
• Design, implement and support large Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Hands-on VM and storage administration with VMware/Nutanix.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 workloads, identity platforms and endpoint management.
• Strong Azure cloud experience in hybrid environments; security and patching expertise.
• Proven backup, disaster recovery and recovery testing experience.
• Industry certifications and ITIL Foundation beneficial; security controls in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage Windows Server, AD and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Administer VMware/Nutanix infrastructure; manage compute, storage and lifecycle.
• Manage Azure cloud platforms and secure hybrid infrastructure.
• Lead patching, hardening and vulnerability remediation across estates.
• Provide operations support across infrastructure tooling and ITSM systems.
• Own backup and disaster recovery processes with regular recovery testing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor ICT team members.
