Job summary

The Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) within the Department of Defence seeks a seasoned leader to deliver vital vetting services and security clearances.

You will guide the day-to-day operations, supervise Security Clearance Delegates and Vetting Analysts, monitor caseloads, and ensure compliance with PSPF and AGSVA policies.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security vetting and clearance operations.
• Ability to interpret policies and legislation relevant to security vetting.
• Proven record engaging with senior executives and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Foster professionalism, integrity and security awareness.
• Lead and manage day-to-day delivery of security clearance and personnel vetting activities, including supervision of SCD and VA.
• Monitor caseloads and performance metrics to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes per the AGSVA Service Level Charter.
• Conduct security vetting and make clearance decisions within delegated authority.
• Ensure compliance with PSPF, AGSVA policy and privacy obligations.
• Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders across AGSVA and the national security community.
• Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement in vetting processes and service delivery.
• Support implementation of new systems, technologies and personnel security reforms.
• Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, ministerial responses and executive correspondence.
