Job summary

Qantas Group is seeking a Lead Security Engineer - Endpoint, Identity & Data Protection to own core security platforms end to end—from evaluation through deployment to live service. The role spans endpoint, identity, network edge, data protection, cloud, and SaaS security with opportunities to specialise.

This hands-on engineering role requires partnering with business and technology teams to ensure coverage, effectiveness, and continuous improvement across the Group’s security stack.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years in cyber security or tech risk with hands-on security engineering.
• Experience owning and operating enterprise security platforms in BAU environments.
• Strong in endpoint and identity controls and cloud/SaaS security.

Responsibilities

• Shape 1-3 year plan for platforms aligned with Cyber strategy and business goals.
• Identify new capability, evaluate, and deploy to production.
• Own platforms post-live including health reporting and policy tuning.
• Govern controls, risks, suppliers and service performance for regulatory obligations.
• Support Security Operations Centre with detections and telemetry.
