Job summary

Qantas is seeking a Lead Security Engineer - Endpoint, Identity & Data Protection for a permanent role based in Sydney or Melbourne. You will own core security platforms end to end, partner with business and technology teams, and help strengthen controls across endpoints, identity, network, and data protection.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to translate technical risk into business impact.

Qualifications

• At least seven years in cyber security or related field with hands-on security engineering experience.
• Experience owning and operating enterprise security platforms in BAU environments.
• Strong domain knowledge across endpoint, identity, cloud, and data protection controls.

Responsibilities

• Shape 1-3 year plan for security platforms and align with cyber strategy.
• Evaluate new capabilities and drive deployment into production.
• Own platforms post-launch with health reporting and policy tuning.
• Govern controls, risks, suppliers and service performance to support regulatory obligations.
• Support SOC with detections and telemetry and collaborate with Cyber Assurance.
