Job summary

Reece is seeking an Associate Security Engineer to join its Cyber Defence team in Australia. You’ll work across day-to-day security operations and practical engineering delivery, monitoring alerts, supporting incident response and building automation to accelerate remediation.

You’ll gain exposure to SIEM, SOAR, EDR, email security and cloud platforms, with senior guidance as you develop hands-on expertise in security tooling and cloud posture management.

Qualifications

• Early experience in information security, IT operations, cloud or software engineering.
• Hands-on exposure to security tooling and incident response is desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts and automation helps.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage and respond to security alerts across endpoints, identity, email, cloud and network sources.
• Support investigations, containment and recovery during security incidents.
• Improve detection rules, dashboards, runbooks and response playbooks.
• Assist with phishing and email security requests and user security questions.
• Track vulnerabilities and work with teams to remediate findings.
• Build automation to reduce repetitive tasks and improve reporting.
• Use AI to enhance triage and day-to-day security processes.
• Support cloud posture management across AWS and Azure.
