Job summary

UGL Pty Limited in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Secondary Systems Engineer to join the Power Utilities team, delivering automation and secondary systems across the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, applying your experience with substations, RTU/PLC/HMI, IEC 61850, and cybersecurity to design, integrate and test systems that utilities rely on daily.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree electrical or related field.
• Experience in power utilities or substation/control system environments.
• Strong understanding of SCADA, automation and control systems used in utilities.
• Familiar with utility standards and operating expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs and specifications for automation and secondary systems.
• Interface with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders on design decisions.
• Support delivery across all phases: design, integration, testing, and commissioning.
