Broughton Anglican College in Menangle Park NSW is inviting applications for an experienced Humanities Teacher to join the Senior School in 2027. The college educates more than 1,400 students in a Christian, Bible-based environment.

The successful candidate will teach across Stages 4–6, uphold the College ethos, and demonstrate exceptional communication and relational teaching skills. Teaching Business Studies or Geography is desirable, with a focus on innovative pedagogy and collaboration

Qualifications

• Must be a committed Christian actively involved in a Bible-based Evangelical church.
• Accredited teacher with at least Conditional Teacher accreditation from NESA.
• Ability to teach across NSW HSC Humanities Syllabi (Stages 4-6).
• Strong communication and relational teaching skills.
• Knowledge of school compliance requirements (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Teach Humanities across Stages 4-6 with a Christian ethos in mind.
• Manage curriculum requirements: programs, registers, assessment, feedback, reporting.
• Address student issues using the College's positive behaviour framework and protocols.
• Lead pastoral care through regular House Tutor groups.
• Support co-curricular activities and contribute to College life.

The College has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Humanities Teacher to join the Senior School in a full-time position commencing in Term 1, 2027.

Applicants for the position of Humanities Teacher must demonstrate at a minimum that they:

are a committed Christian, who is active in the life of a Bible-based Evangelical Church.

support the College's vision of holistic Christian education.

conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with the College ethos and Code of Conduct at all times, modelling Christian maturity to the College community.

have the ability to teach across Stages 4-6 of the NESA Humanities Syllabi to ensure that the College provides quality education to students.

have exceptional communication and relational teaching skills.

have knowledge of relevant compliance requirements in schools.

holds a valid Working with Children Check in NSW (WWCC).

are an accredited teacher with at least Conditional Teacher accreditation from NESA.

work effectively and collaboratively in a Faculty team.

the ability to teach Business Studies or Geography would be highly desirable.

Core Responsibilities:

The Humanities Teacher should:

provide effective and innovative teaching practices for teaching Humanities, reflecting the Christian ethos of the College, ensuring a high standard of outcomes for all students.

manage curriculum requirements for their classes, including programs, registers, assessment, feedback, and reporting.

manage student issues arising from their classes using the College's positive behaviour framework and implementing relevant College protocols.

implement College protocols and strategies.

provide effective pastoral care to students through leading a regular House Tutor group.

support co-curricular activities of the College.
