Job summary

Broughton Anglican College in the Macarthur region is seeking an experienced Humanities Teacher for the Senior School. This permanent full‑time position commences in Term 1 2027 and offers the opportunity to teach across Stages 4–6 of the NESA Humanities Syllabi, contributing to high-quality education within our Christian ethos.

Applicants must be a committed Christian, hold a NSW Working with Children Check, and be an accredited teacher with Conditional NESA accreditation.

Qualifications

• Must be an experienced humanities teacher capable of teaching across Stages 4–6 of the NESA Humanities Syllabi.
• Strong communication and relational teaching skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a Faculty team and uphold school ethos.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective and innovative Humanities teaching reflecting the Christian ethos.
• Manage curriculum, assessments, feedback and reporting for classes.
• Address student issues using the College framework and protocols.
• Implement College protocols and pastoral care through House Tutor groups.
• Support co-curricular activities of the College.

The College is seeking an experienced Humanities Teacher for the Senior School.

This position is permanent full-time commencing in Term 1 2027.

Core Requirements:

• are a committed Christian, who is active in the life of a Bible-based Evangelical Church.
• support the College's vision of holistic Christian education.
• conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with the College ethos and Code of Conduct at all times, modelling Christian maturity to the College community.
• have the ability to teach across Stages 4-6 of the NESA Humanities Syllabi to ensure that the College provides quality education to students.
• have exceptional communication and relational teaching skills.
• have knowledge of relevant compliance requirements in schools.
• holds a valid Working with Children Check in NSW (WWCC).
• are an accredited teacher with at least Conditional Teacher accreditation from NESA.
• work effectively and collaboratively in a Faculty team.
• the ability to teach Business Studies or Geography would be highly desirable.

Core Responsibilities:

• provide effective and innovative teaching practices for teaching Humanities, reflecting the Christian ethos of the College, ensuring a high standard of outcomes for all students.
• manage curriculum requirements for their classes, including programs, registers, assessment, feedback, and reporting.
• manage student issues arising from their classes using the College's positive behaviour framework and implementing relevant College protocols.
• implement College protocols and strategies.
• provide effective pastoral care to students through leading a regular House Tutor group.
• support co-curricular activities of the College.
