Job summary

Braemar College in Victoria seeks an outstanding Humanities teacher for the Senior School. This full-time fixed-term role runs for Term 1, 2027, commencing 22 January 2027; part-time applicants will also be considered.

You will deliver Humanities curricula, including VCE History, collaborate with staff, support student wellbeing and foster innovation in learning. A tertiary teaching qualification and current VIT registration are required; the position offers a very competitive salary with 17.5%

  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively delivering Humanities across the school.
  • Support students' wellbeing by providing support and challenges and building confidence.
  • Display innovation in curriculum and collaborative learning approaches.
  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification enabling you to teach Humanities; VCE History desirable.
  • Be a current VIT registered teacher.
  • Understand ethos of Independent Schooling and contribute to College events and adhere to Child Safe policies.

Job description

Braemar College is an independent, co-educational, ecumenical school for students in Years 5 to 12. The College has two campuses, both of which are located near Woodend, less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD.

The successful candidate will experience working in one of the most unique educational settings and teach committed and passionate students. We desire exceptional teachers who want to work in an aspirational culture. Teachers support an intentional learning journey for students that builds confidence, independence and readiness for future stages of learning.

The position is a full-time fixed-term position for Term 1, 2027 and exists due to the teacher taking long service leave. You would commence on 22 January 2027. (Part-time applicants would also be considered)

About You

The College seeks an outstanding teacher who is knowledgeable and passionate about the Humanities curriculum and current pedagogical thinking. It is expected that you will:

  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification that enables you to teach Humanities, particularly VCE History would be desirable.
  • Display an individual learning disposition that strives for continual improvement.
  • Be a current VIT registered teacher.
