Job summary

u&u Recruitment Partners seeks expressions of interest for a senior Right to Information and Privacy role within a large, complex organisation in Queensland. You will provide specialist advice on RTI, privacy, information access, risk management and stakeholder engagement to support governance and compliance.

The role offers an advisory remit with exposure to senior stakeholders and opportunities to influence privacy practice, plus scope to develop guidance and training for the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in right to information, privacy, governance or information access within a large and complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).
• Experience providing privacy advice, managing risks and contributing to privacy impact assessments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant qualifications in law, governance, business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage RTI and information access applications, including acting as decision-maker where required.
• Provide expert advice on privacy obligations, information access and legislative requirements.
• Manage privacy complaints, data breach assessments and risk mitigation activities.
• Contribute to Privacy Impact Assessments for projects, systems and business initiatives.
• Manage administrative access processes and third-party information requests.
• Develop guidance, training and resources to improve organisational capability.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and provide practical, solution-focused advice; and
• Identify opportunities to improve privacy and information governance practices.
