Job summary

Logan City Council is seeking an exceptional Construction Manager to lead its Road Construction Program, guiding a multidisciplinary team to deliver capital and rehabilitation works across roads, drainage, footpaths and spoil sites. The role supports disaster response and requires a dynamic, collaborative leader in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will plan and report on programs, manage finances, procurement and contracts, and lead continuous improvement while building staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and eligibility for RPEQ registration under the Professional Engineers Act.
• Senior level experience in civil maintenance or construction with large works programs and complex projects.
• Experience leading tender processes and commercial contract arrangements.
• Extensive financial management and budgeting experience for infrastructure programs.
• Proven ability to inspire, develop and coach staff to realise potential.
• Strong written and oral communication for reports and presentations.
• Knowledge of WH&S legislation and safety in design principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across seven services within the Program and drive efficient service delivery.
• Lead strategic planning, project reporting, and oversight of finance, procurement, contracts and HR.
• Manage program and project development planning and establish internal stakeholder relationships.
• Champion continuous improvement and change management, ensuring value for money and lessons learned.
• Develop forward plans, business, project and risk management plans.
• Identify and mitigate technical, operational, stakeholder and commercial risks for Transport Operations.
• Oversee procurement processes in line with Council policies and requirements.
• Lead health, safety and wellbeing initiatives within the Program.
