Job summary

SMEC is seeking a Senior Engineer – Roads & Highways based in Newcastle, NSW, to lead design delivery across transport infrastructure projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to plan, design and deliver road/highway solutions for NSW and Australia, combining technical expertise with project management and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads/highways engineering within transport infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary design packages and deliverables.
• Strong client engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver road and highway design solutions across various stages of the transport infrastructure lifecycle.
• Undertake geometric design, corridor modelling, design development and technical reviews.
• Manage defined packages of work, including scope, programme, budget, quality and deliverables.
• Coordinate across transport disciplines and multidisciplinary teams for integrated outcomes.
• Prepare and review reports, specifications and technical documentation.
• Support planning, resourcing, risk management and commercial performance.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and delivery outcomes.
• Mentor Graduate engineers and contribute to business development and technical excellence.
