SMEC is seeking a Senior Drafter for the Roads & Highways team in Newcastle or Sydney to deliver high-quality drafting and design documentation for major transport infrastructure projects.

You will produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models, align outputs with SMEC and client standards, and collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure accurate, coordinated and buildable design outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of drafting experience in roads/highway or transport projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
• Experience delivering detailed design and construction documentation.

Responsabilités

• Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for roads/highways projects.
• Deliver construction-level documentation per project requirements.
• Apply drafting standards, QA processes and client specs.
• Check drawings and ensure quality and accuracy.
• Manage drawing and model outputs across project timelines.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain project data in Common Data Environments (e.g., ProjectWise).
• Provide drafting guidance to less experienced drafters.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in digital delivery and workflows.
