Job summary

Inner West Council is seeking a risk-focused professional to strengthen its enterprise risk framework. You will support risk maturity, business continuity, and incident management across the organisation while advising leadership and governance bodies.

You’ll collaborate with multiple directorates to embed a proactive risk culture, develop reporting insights, and help maintain risk registers and treatment plans. This role requires strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated risk, business continuity and incident management senior specialist experience.
• Experience delivering risk advice to resolve problems or respond to business continuity matters or serious incidents.
• Experience maintaining enterprise risk registers and assisting units develop operational risks.
• Experience developing and implementing risk treatment plans and monitoring effectiveness.
• Strong workplace relationships and stakeholder management with a passion for risk management and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk framework.
• Embed proactive risk culture and provide expert guidance across Directorates and Service Units.
• Contribute to high-quality reporting and insights for senior leadership and governance bodies.
• Assist in maintaining risk registers and monitoring effectiveness of risk treatments.
