Whizdom is seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Support Contractor in Sydney’s CBD for a hybrid engagement. The initial six-month term may extend, with 38 hours per week and Australian citizenship eligibility noted.

The role covers operational risk, governance, resilience and reporting across business-as-usual and project work. The successful candidate will engage with risk partners to maintain risk and incident registers, prepare reports and support risk workshops, controls and governance

Qualifications

• Experience in operational risk, governance or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, control reviews or other risk management activities in corporate, government, regulatory or professional services environments.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks, compliance frameworks or control assurance activities.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Support Contractor

Location: Sydney CBD, hybrid working

About the Opportunity

A Commonwealth regulatory organisation is seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Support Contractor to join its enterprise risk function. This role will provide operational risk management support across the organisation, working closely with risk partners and other team members. The successful candidate will contribute to operational risk, compliance, resilience and governance activities across a combination of business-as-usual and project-based work. The engagement is expected to commence in November 2026 and will run for an initial six-month term. The organisation may extend the engagement for up to a further six months.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting operational risks.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, governance or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, control reviews or other risk management activities within a corporate, government, regulatory or professional services environment.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks, compliance frameworks or control assurance activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to interpret information, identify risks and develop practical recommendations.
• Experience preparing reports, presentations and briefing materials for management audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.

Working Arrangements and Eligibility

This is a Sydney-based hybrid engagement. The successful candidate will be required to work from the Sydney CBD office for at least 50% of their time, with additional office attendance potentially requested when operational support is required. Travel and related expenses are not provided.

Australian citizenship is mandatory. The successful candidate may also be required to hold an appropriate Australian Government security clearance and/or complete a nationally coordinated criminal history check.
