Job summary

Inner West Council is seeking a Risk Specialist to strengthen risk maturity by developing and improving the enterprise risk framework. You will focus on risk management, business continuity and incident response, collaborating with directorates and service units to embed proactive risk practices.

You will contribute to high-quality reporting for senior leadership and governance bodies, ensuring resilience while maintaining essential services for the community.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated risk, business continuity and incident management senior specialist experience in a diverse operational service delivery focused organisation.
• Experience delivering risk advice and support to resolve problems or investigate and respond to business continuity matters or serious incidents.
• Experience with the maintenance of enterprise risk registers and assisting service units develop operational risks.
• Experience with the development and implementation of risk treatment plans and monitoring their effectiveness.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk framework.
• Provide expert advice on risk management, business continuity and incident response.
• Contribute to high-quality reporting and insights for senior leadership and governance bodies.
