Inner West Council is seeking a dedicated Risk Coordinator to strengthen the Council’s enterprise risk framework and support risk management, business continuity and incident management across directorates and service units. Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated risk, business continuity and incident management senior specialist experience in a diverse operational service delivery focused organisation.
  • Experience delivering risk advice and support to resolve problems or investigate and respond to business continuity matters or serious incidents.
  • Experience with assisting with the maintenance of enterprise risk register/s, and assisting operational service units develop and review operational risks registers.
  • Experience with the development and implementation of risk treatment plans and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships and stakeholder management through adept communication skills and approachable style with a passion for risk management, safety improvement and customer service.

Reporting to the Risk Coordinator, you'll play a key role in strengthening Council's risk maturity by supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of our enterprise risk framework. With a strong focus on risk management, business continuity and incident management, you'll help ensure Council is well-positioned to identify, assess and respond to emerging risks while maintaining critical services for the community.

As part of a specialist team, you'll work closely with Directorates and Service Units across the organisation, providing expert advice and practical support to embed a proactive risk culture. You'll also contribute to high-quality reporting and insights for senior leadership, the Executive and governance bodies, including the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee, helping to drive informed decision-making and organisational resilience.

$85,842.12 - $94,968.64 + 12% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
